Hi, I’m Sean, Founder of The Rewire Company.
A former HR executive who builds with (and without) AI.
The short version
I spent 20 years on the people side at some of the world's best companies. Most recently I was a Global VP of Human Resources, leading four business lines in nine countries. I was never in IT, but always focused on driving results by combining talent and tech through strategy, org design, and developing exceptional talent to get the job done.
And despite moving from Corporate America to a solo startup, the transition was not as dramatic as you may think. I always gravitated to the roles where somebody has to figure out something new. Most of my jobs did not exist before I was in them. I crossed industries and geographies, always learning and building at every stop. Solving problems and then teaching others how to do it for themselves is one of my favorite things.
How I ended up here
When I left to start my own business I had to use AI the only way I knew how: as a leader building a team. I treated AI like a new hire. A talented entry-level one with zero real-world experience. So I onboarded it, gave clear direction, checked its work, and made it better. That turned out to be the key. I have never written a line of code, and I now run a software company with no developers, because I built the organization I wanted and just had to find a way to make sure it was done right.
This helped drive me to coach and consult with organizations on how to make AI enablement and change really work for their people. If you've ever rolled out a new SaaS platform, offshored work, or lived through a merger, you already know what makes an organization successful through change. It's never the technology. It's change management, org design, process engineering, and good old-fashioned leadership. AI is the same playbook with new vocabulary. You're more qualified for it than you think.
What I do now
Lead
I work with executives, HR teams, and organizations. Coaching for the executive who just got handed AI and is still figuring it out for themselves. Leadership strategy sessions built on what you already have, not a blank page. The most important work of AI adoption happens after the committees and use case reviews are long gone, and that's where I believe organizations can accelerate and get ahead. Explore Lead
Teach
I teach, moderate, and write. Lessons on Maven, classes at universities, panels, podcasts, and a book on the way. Teaching and sharing what I've learned are the parts of this I enjoy most, so I lean into that space. Learn More
Build
I’m not always able to be in the room or on the screen. So I developed the tools and capabilities to bring these skills right to where people are. I offer a portfolio of agents and apps based on lived experience and insights. And for those that want to create on their own, I have Rewire Apps to help turn your ideas into something real, designed by you, for you. Whether software, agents, or apps, it is far more effective when you can skip the slides and build what you need. Discover Build
Areas of Expertise Across Rewire
As a parent and school board member, I also work with K-12 schools, helping educators do their best work preparing the next generation, with AND without AI. Rewire Schools
Applying my knowledge as an HR professional, I specialize in programs designed for HR leaders and practitioners leading through AI change, along with tools built to do the job day in and day out. Rewire HR
Founders and entrepreneurs can unlock some of the greatest value with AI, but I know from personal experience how much there is to manage, learn, and build. So I took the tools I built for myself and offer them to anyone that could use a hand at making AI work for them. Rewire Founders
The non-Rewire career path
I’ve always been in Human Resources, always at large global companies such as Shell, AbbVie, JLL, and Gallagher. I have supported a variety of functions, industries, and geographies, and was able to find success not by focusing just on what I knew, but by being willing to find ways to apply the expertise I had and develop the skills I needed.
I went to the University of Illinois, earning my bachelor's degree in Psychology and my master's degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations. I live in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, serve on the local school board, and the non-work life revolves around enjoying time with my wife and our three kids.
How I think about AI
I don't peddle hype, push single solutions, or chase every new model and line of code. AI is powerful, but it doesn't replace what people bring. And so I make sure I don’t lose sight of the most important part of the equation. You.
And as a leader who has been through countless cycles of change, I am making sure my clients are prepared for what happens after the dust settles, when the AI committees end and the new strategy meets the workforce's reality. When large organizations are slow to adapt and agile individuals and companies are able to race ahead. That's where people will really see the long-term value of AI. That’s where I want to be.
